Cold water, peroxide, we tried everything, I want'ed to cut its head off, which never happened. I know it was a long time ago, but it's hard to properly grow from an experience if we refuse to accept a proper degree of fault. "I did everything wrong and the snake reacted like a snake, so it was probably at least a little my fault." Personally, I'd take that as an opportunity for personal growth. I was also very comfortable and familiar with the collection.

I was euthanizing and freezing rabbit prior to me going through the snakes I probably had the rabbit scent all over me. Situation was kind of due to negligence on my part.

So yes I do think the right size yellow anaconda can kill you in the right (or wrong) situation. I didn't have my guard up and wasn't anticipating this from this animal. The large snake I had the most trust we had, never had any issues with it prior. This was the snake we would use for our educational shows. I lost quite a bit of blood, I passed out for a bit after the whole thing. The teeth on the lower jaw went right through my finger nails, my hand was in the form of a first when coiled. They finally got the upper jaw off my hand but couldn't get the lower law off. My hand was blue when all the coils were finally undone. It took a long time for them just to undo the coils, as it would twist out of someones grip. I'm not sure of how long it took to get it off, it was over an hour from their stories of it. I had to carry the snake upstairs to the shop where people were for help. Regardless, the bit was a feeding response and the animal was too strong for me to undo the it's coils from my arm. A 12' Burmese python bit my hand and quickly coiled around my arm. When I was 16 (I was a smaller guy for that age) I was doing cage maintenance on a collection of snakes at my work.
