Most of the numbers will fit a pattern, for instance all ending in 5.You should have four or five numbers written down. Proceed all the way around the dial, writing down all the whole numbers where it catches.Lock combinations are always whole numbers. If the middle number is not a whole number, such as 28.5, do not write it down. For example, the range might be between 27.5 and 29.5. The lock will also catch partway between numbers. This is not necessarily the final number. For instance, if the lock catches between 33 and 35, write down 34 on a separate piece of paper. The lock will catch several times, allowing for slight movement back and forth between two numbers.Apply upwards pressure on the shackle and turn the dial clockwise. Spin the dial clockwise a few times to reset the lock and set it at 0. A different method for finding the third number is to test the catch. But if you're not that patient, you'd be better off to just toss the lock and buy a new one.Test for the third number. Unless you are very patient and can try out 720 different combinations until you find the right one (I googled it), I'd say go for it. However, if you had previously set a combination and you forgot what it was and the lock is locked, these instructions won't work. But if you're not that patient, you'd be better off to just toss the lock and buy a new one.

Don't forget to write the new combination down and keep it in a safe place. After your release the shackle, you are all set. Just open the lock with this combination, turn the shackle halfway to the left or right and push it down AND HOLD IT DOWN while you set your unique combination. All locks are pre-set at the factory to 0-0-0. If your lock is brand new, it is very easy to set your unique combination.
